Frequently Asked Questions

  • Direct primary care is a healthcare model that allows us to actually put the patient first.

That means treating patients when they need treatment, not rushing through appointments, and being there regardless of the time of day.

The provider-patient relationship is just as the name suggests – direct. We don’t accept insurance; instead, we’ve chosen to work directly for you, the patient.

  • Anyone!

Restoration Direct Primary Care is ideal for many different groups of people, including:

    • People with lower cost, large deductible insurance policies (“catastrophic plans”), as these products typically do not pay for outpatient visits.

    • People who utilize a Health Savings Account (HSA), which can be used to pay your monthly membership fees.

    • People without insurance.

    • People with complex medical histories typically requiring frequent medical visits and needing more time with their physician.

    • People who value wellness and want to stay healthy. We can see you for lifestyle issues (stress reduction, sleep, and much more) without time pressure.

    • People who want to take charge of their own health care, without government or insurance interference.

  • The affordable monthly membership fee allows us to provide you with the highest quality of care possible. It covers a wide variety of routine health services and allows Restoration Direct Primary Care to negotiate low prices for other services you may need, such as labs, medications, and imaging.

  • Your Health. The focus of a primary care provider is to keep you healthy and screen for preventable and treatable diseases. We do a lot of nutrition and weight-loss counseling, depression and anxiety treatment, annual exams, skin biopsies and so much more. There is a massive health benefit of having someone specialized in preventative medicine working with you throughout the year.

Cost Savings. Traditional health care costs – premiums, copays, deductibles, etc. – continue to rise rapidly, placing a heavy burden on individuals and families. Restoration Direct Primary Care’s membership model is a fixed monthly fee that provides transparent, discounted pricing. We are readily available to our patients, helping you avoid costly emergency department or urgent care visits. We also have relationships with vendors that provide access to medications, labs, and imaging procedures at steeply discounted prices.

  • Not at all.

We want long lasting relationships with our patients and we understand that things come up. We only ask that you provide a written notice of 30 days. See our member agreement.

  • Your membership covers your primary care needs, but it is not the same thing as health insurance.

We recommend (but don’t require) our members to obtain health insurance to cover more expensive health care needs (surgeries and unavoidable ER visits), which is typically done with things like a high-deductible catastrophic plan. Medical cost sharing programs are often a good match as well.

  • We do NOT accept insurance.

This allows us to keep our pricing of services transparent and affordable. You can still use your insurance for hospital visits or other medical specialists. You can also use your insurance for labs, imaging or medications. However, we have negotiated with local vendors to provide you with discounted rates on these services, so some patients prefer not to bill their insurance.

  • The short answer is yes we CAN still see you!

However, Medicare has very strict regulations regarding direct primary care practices that limit our ability to provide the best care. In order to see a patient with Medicare, we “opted out” of the standard Medicare contract. As a result, when a patient with Medicare sees us we enter into a simple agreement with the patient stating we will not bill or claim reimbursement from Medicare. Patients can still use Medicare for their medications, specialists, hospital visits, emergencies, labs, imaging, etc., just not the monthly membership.

  • If you require medical care after normal office hours, you have the ability to contact Restoration Direct Primary Care via phone, email, text, or virtual visit.

However, if you need to be seen by a provider while you are away from home, we can assist in finding a provider for you, and can order prescriptions from a pharmacy in your locality if medication is required.

  • You can use any insurance you have for specialist care. If specialist care is needed, we will discuss options with you and refer you to a specialist that best meets your individual needs, taking financial concerns into account.

  • Across the country, many businesses, large and small, are partnering with direct primary care offices to save money while providing high-quality care to their employees. There have been numerous studies showing >20% savings to businesses with the use of direct primary care models. We believe the direct primary care model provides an enormous benefit, and we love working with local businesses to help provide excellent healthcare to their employees, at an affordable cost.
